Realizing the power that the internet has to affect and change people’s lives, I have spent the past few years testing, reviewing, and developing my own online weight loss programs in order to pinpoint just what works and what doesn’t, what gets results in the least amount of time and what doesn’t.
Along the way, I have learned that there are many online weight loss options out there, and that different programs work better for different types of people.
So below I break down for you the different types of online weight loss programs that I have seen, including the benefits and drawbacks that you may get from each type, so that you can decide which type of program will work best for you.

But first, let’s talk about the different weight loss programs that you will find online these days:
Online Food Delivery Services:
These types of programs work great if you are not really sure how to eat for weight loss and you don’t have much interest in cooking your own meals. You can sign up for a food delivery service online, and many of these programs will actually put together meal plans for you and physically deliver food to your house each week.
One of the biggest cons for delivery services like this is the price. With many of these programs you will pay $300 or more per month. However, they are delivering most of your meals to you, so you do have to factor in the lower grocery bill each month.
Another con to these is that it is all up to you to follow through with eating the meals and not cheating. It can often be difficult, unless you utilize online support resources, to stick with any program.
Online Diet and Exercise Guides:
This type of program works well if you are the type who likes to track things. Weight Watchers is a great example of an online diet resource. With Weight Watchers, each food is assigned a point system and your goal is to only eat the allotted points each day. As long as you are paying for the service and being honest to the point system, you should have pretty good success.
Though this program has had tremendous success over the years, where I have issue with it is the fact that many people on the program never really learn how to really eat and exercise for true long-term fat loss and weight management.
All you will really learn is how to follow a point system and track your progress. The root of weight gain and weight loss is not explained very well, and so as a result many people who stop using a program like this tend to gain the weight back fairly quickly
Free Online Diet and Exercise Resources:
There are lots of free weight loss resources on the web that offer diet guides, exercise plans, nutrition tips, and lots more. They are great if you have the discipline to follow through on your own with any of these plans.
However, it is up to you to utilize these resources to their max, and it is also up to you to decide which path to follow. Though there lots of great resources out there, by using them you will forego following a specific plan designed to get you results in the shortest time possible.

Online Coaching Programs:
Online weight loss coaching is still in its infancy, and there is really only one company that I believe has perfected the online coaching process. The benefits of online coaching are many if it is done right.

The one con for these online weight loss programs is that you will actually have to read the material and follow through in order to be successful. Everything is laid out for you in clear step-by-step terms.
What I like about these is that for under $40, you will literally have access to all the exercise and nutrition guides necessary for a complete and total body transformation. That’s like the cost of one personal training session in most gyms. All you have to do is read the material, follow the plans, and you should see awesome results.
If you can find a good one, such as the ones I have listed below, then I suggest trying the 21-day trial to test it out. You can usually try these out for under $5 to see if it will work for you.

While each program has its own advantages and disadvantages, I tend to suggest the latter two program types for most people (online coaching programs and e-books) because these actually teach and coach you through the weight loss process.
